Indonesia MICE market grows thanks to Indian interest
The Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Event (MICE) market in Indian is said to be looking very promising in Indonesia, thanks in part due to interest from India.
The Visit Indonesia Tourism Officer (VITO) India have said that they have seen a growing number of Indian companies targeting the country. Sanjay Sondhi from VITO India, stated, “We have seen a growing interest from corporate incentives to Indonesia, particularly Bali,”
The number of arrivals from India is one of the few countries which are said to have increased, with particular attention focussed on the island of Bali. Arrivals have risen in the region of 10% since 2014 according to the Ministry of Tourism.
The Westin Resort in Nusa Dua Bali have said at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua Bali, “We have had big Indian weddings before but MICE from this market is new. This year, we have seen many inquiries coming in for MICE.” Saraswati Subadia, director of sales MICE
With a growing number of event venues and hotels in Bali and a relatively lower cost per head it is expected that the trend is set to continue with more events relocating to Indonesia.
