Sponsorship Account Director – Digital Media & Marketing Events

£ Up to £50000 plus OTE & Benefits (90k+)

The Client…is a global events and publishing business bringing together the world’s most influential media minds in a series of events around the globe, showcasing the sector’s best practice and campaign techniques, and revealing the industry trends and insights across its publishing platform, due to continued growth a role has arisen for an experienced Account Director to sell strategically across a number of platforms.

Key responsibilities:

  • Selling event sponsorship, partnerships, digital advertising and awards packages across the client portfolio
  • Drive new business initiatives and manage existing accounts
  • Conduct sales via telephone, email and face to face
  • Attending industry events, networking and acting as the face of the client.
  • Maintain an excellent CRM, leading from the front and assisting junior team members
  • Develop a strategy for encouraging lapsed accounts to rebook
  • Manage your base to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting as and when required to the Commercial Director
  • Management of team when Commercial Director is out of the office
  • Work closely with event and content team to ensure all initiatives are fully exploited
  • Work closely with the marketing team to maximize effectiveness of all promotions
  • Be an ambassador for the client during off site meetings and during our own events
  • Ensure strong customer service focus at all times dealing with any queries promptly and efficiently

Skills and experience required

Essential

  • Solid experience within an events environment
  • Proven record in achieving KPIs, and sales targets
  • Excellent, comprehensive understanding of the global media industry, brands, agency and media owners plus suppliers to all
  • Solid contacts across agencies, media owners, and suppliers to the media industry
  • Confident and concise telephone manner and proven ability to communicate with senior personnel both on email and telephone
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills and client service intuition
  • Resilient, highly organised, self-starter
  • Understanding of online media marketing activity & use of CMS/CRM systems – pref Microsoft Dynamics
