Newcastle University’s new London Campus in the heart of the City’s financial district offers world-class, industry-immersive, business education from INTO Pathway programmes, to University undergraduate, postgraduate taught and Doctorate level study. The University is building on its success to date and has ambitious plans to expand its programme portfolio to include a range of subjects tailored to the London market and develop a world-leading research profile.

The University is now looking for an enthusiastic professional Events and PR Officer to join the Newcastle University London Team. The role holder will manage events including, Open Days, exhibitions, masterclasses, public lectures, graduation ceremonies, alumni and careers events and research network events. They will also coordinate and deliver Newcastle University London’s involvement in corporate public relations events and activities in liaison with Newcastle University’s

The Events Officer role is an exciting and interesting position suited to someone who enjoys working with people, can trouble-shoot on the spot, keeps a calm head and works well as part of a team. You will have experience of working in events organisation and a degree in a relevant subject. In addition, the successful candidate will have proven project management, organisational, problem solving and negotiation skills and the ability to draft copy and proof read with meticulous attention to detail. S/he will have exceptional interpersonal skills, an ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, and good knowledge and understanding of the UK’s Higher Education and research environment, and key issues facing it.

Please note that this post is based at the London campus near Liverpool street station.


Responsible for the planning, management and delivery of Newcastle University London’s annual programme of events and PR activities; working as a key member of the External Relations team on ways of effectively promoting these events to appropriate audiences; working with existing partners and helping to develop new partners and sponsors; leading on the operational delivery of professional and well branded events. Contribute to cross-cutting projects and initiatives in order to develop and maintain the profile of the campus; identifying PR opportunities and supporting media communication and press releases in liaison with the Director of External Relations and Marketing Manager. To attend and represent Newcastle University London at all relevant events.


The post role is aligned to Salary Band C: £24,242 – £31,516 per annum, inclusive of London weighting.
