Sales Manager

The Glasshouse Group develops, owns, and operates modern amenity-rich event and meeting spaces in the Metropolitan New York area. We design cutting-edge spaces and interact with our clients to create memorable, spectacular, and diversified events.

We are seeking a dynamic, highly-motivated sales manager to join our team. Ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and thinks strategically about how to grow business across a portfolio of spaces and event types.


Business Development

* Develop and maintain a diverse portfolio of clients across corporate, social, and non-profit categories

* Lead new business development growth efforts in concert with management priorities

* Foster and sustain relationships with repeat clients and key industry contacts to yield repeat business

* Create, distribute, and follow up on client proposals and contracts, negotiating all terms according to client specifications while adhering to internal pricing guidelines

* Maintain extensive knowledge of event spaces, including but not limited to capacity charts, zone selling, and package pricing

Event Execution

* Leverage execution knowledge; conduct site visits and walk-throughs with prospective clients, execute contracts, provide cost estimates, troubleshoot, all while providing excellent customer service and understanding the needs of clients with custom event concepts

* Serve as onsite contact for high-profile events to ensure seamless execution and exceptional client experience

Industry Knowledge

* Understand The Glasshouse Group brand and effectively communicate key differentiators to prospective and existing clients

* Maintain thorough knowledge of competitive offerings (space, technology, pricing, etc.)

* Attend tradeshows and industry-related events to prospect for new business

Efficiency and Optimization

* Maintain and update all event-related information in event booking system (familiarity with TripleSeat and other event software systems a plus)

* Work with management to ensure profitability through yield and client selection

* Evaluate the sales potential of existing relationships and identify areas for improvement and growth


* 4-5 years of sales experience, events and/or hospitality in the New York City market, with a record of exceeding revenue goals

* Proven background in strategizing and executing catering/food & beverage sales

* Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills

* Exceptional organizational abilities, with strong attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills

* Proactive attitude and results-orientation, with ability to maximize revenue, cross-sell, and provide creative solutions to clients

* Ability to manage high volume of emails and phone calls, providing quick and accurate information to clients and internal stakeholders

* Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills required; experience working with databases and CRM software
